Actually, probably so. Why no declarative statement? Because I know people, having dealt with so many for so long through war, business, school and on the street. War is probably the pivot point for me. Wetting one’s pants as a grown man is something you don’t hear about outside of war. Blood coming from places you didn’t expect it to come from is another. What this experience does is separate the fluff of society from the facts of life. Bullets and shrapnel kill, maim, ruin a guys day. It is, however, a marvelous learning experience.
I come here not to be a social person but to speak in terms of reality not theory. I am no psychiatrist nor, if I had the choice way back then to be one, would I have gone that way. I look at life as a series of lousy stuff sprinkled with just enough good stuff to keep us in the game. Some get more good stuff, most get more than their share of bad stuff. The difference is how a person handles all of it. This is where faith comes into play. You do understand faith, right? Perhaps you do. Perhaps you don’t. Let me fill you in on this God thing so many are shouting about.
In case you hadn’t noticed, God is a quiet being. He doesn’t demonstrate Himself in a social environment. In fact, He stays out of everything until His appointed time to show up is at hand. He knows all and has no timeline. That is what happens when one is eternal. You have gotten your head around eternal haven’t you? Probably not would be my guess so that makes two of us.
Eternity is the truth of time. When one isn’t affected by time one knows timelines for those who are affected by time. Those affected are you and I. God is apart from us in this way. He has always been and will always be. Don’t try to apply logic to this statement, it behooves us to understand how limited you and I are on this planet. History tells us that nobody lives to 900 years any more. Why is that. We left perfection by disobeying God. We decided that we knew better than He. He who sees the future of all things. Moses lived to be around 950 years old. That is a lot of social security isn’t it?
As to quiet, all we see was created by Him. No, not the Empire State Building but everything down to electrons that went into its construction plus the brains of the men who designed and constructed it. You see, He is a creator of all. Think on this for a week or two. No rush. I have left you a few breadcrumbs to glean onto. The bible can inform you also as the bible is God’s word left for us to get to know Him, our history that matters, and all the rigamarole we have gone through to get to this point. It is worth the read if you have love in your hearts.
